So you are interested in our Discipleship program but you don’t know what to expect. Here is some more information:
Co-Counselling
One of the highlights of this program is co-counselling one of our Special Needs weeks. With one of our staff members, you will be assigned a cabin of 4-8 guests to be one of their counsellors. You will sleep in the same room with your cabin and help them through the activities of the day. Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience working with individuals who have special needs, we will teach you everything you need to know. Don’t forget that you need to have a criminal records check for this part of the program.
Curriculum
Our focus is on the spiritual formation of young people. Teaching them who God and who did God make me to be. Through a series of personality test we help you to see the special gifts and talents God gave you. He also designed you to connect with him in specific ways, whether that is through music, nature, art or other ways.
We also cover many different topics such as worship, prayer, personal devotions and many others. By inviting many different guests speakers you will be sure to get a wide perspective on many topics.
Community Involvement
Along with the week-long mission trip, during this program you will be taking day trips to different organizations to get hands on with serving God. Some of the organizations that you will be likely to visit are Why Not City Missions in Brantford or The Gleaners.
Camp Involvement
We try to get you as involved in Camp life as possible by helping out with our Munchkins program (grades 1-3) and even with maintenance and the kitchen. If you want to work on staff at Camp some day this is a great way to gain experience.
Fun
Camp is all about having fun. In this program you will go camping for a few days and experience all the excitement of camp like canoes and kayaks, the pool and splash pad, and arts and drama. Because of the small group in this program (usually 4-10 campers) there is a lot of flexibility to learn and do what your group wants.
